The agreement reached will make it unnecessary to hold a trial set for this entire week at the Audiencia de Valladolid with the participation of more than a hundred witnesses.

The sentence of agreed upon agreement considers the referred young author of a crime of continuous theft with force in things, in medial contest with a continued crime of fraud, but mitigating mitigation of the damage caused-has already paid close to 3,000 euros- and spontaneous repentance, because when he was arrested in October of last year he acknowledged the facts and even accused himself of many others who were not charged.

The sentence of three years and one day of imprisonment, together with the payment of the corresponding compensation, is substantially lower than the seven years that, provisionally, the Prosecutor requested, according to Europa Press legal sources.

The detainee stole navigators, branded sunglasses and wallets with personal documents and credit cards. Later, they operated with the bank cards that they had stolen until spending their maximum limit in casinos and online platforms located abroad.

In addition, it  vulnerable wireless networks to avoid leaving traces of their actions. To achieve this, they had specific hardware and software that violated passwords up to a radius of 150 meters.

The investigations began because between the months of March and July 2014 a wave of robberies was detected inside the vehicles in community garages, in which the same ‘modus operandi’ was always used.

Selective thief

The thefts took place during the night and in the same time slot and the author fractured the right front window of the co-pilot by means of leverage and, after revolving the interior of the vehicle, he subtracted effects in a selective way, mainly navigators, designer sunglasses, photo and video cameras, digital books and wallets that he found with personal documentation and credit cards.

Later, with the credit cards they found inside, when they had all the victim’s and card’s information, they used it fraudulently through the Internet up to the maximum limit allowed by the card.

As a result of the investigations and the tracking of the operations carried out through the Internet with the fraudulent bank cards, it was possible to verify that the author of the events operated with them mainly in casinos and online platforms located abroad, which complicated the investigation, since the use of international cooperation instruments is necessary.

In addition, the researchers were able to verify that the Internet connections to carry out the fraudulent operations were carried out from different homes and businesses without any common link between them, but close to each other, which led the agents to work under the hypothesis of work that the author of the facts pirated vulnerable wifis to leave no trace of operations.

After months of work, the investigators managed to fully identify the perpetrator and proceeded to arrest him.

 

After requesting the appropriate warrant for entry and search, they were located in a flat in the Delicias neighborhood, where the criminal had his operations center, numerous effects stemming from the thefts of the interior of the vehicles, among which ten navigators were found, three photo cameras, a laptop, an external hard drive and several USB memories, seven mobile phones and eight branded sunglasses.

It was also intervened a clone computer of last generation and two antennas with which the detainee accessed the Internet through the other wifi networks by violating the passwords of the victims up to a range of 150 meters, for which he had specific hardware and software , since his home did not have an Internet connection.

Only in the city of Valladolid the author of the facts had agreed to seventeen community garages where he forced a total of 133 vehicles.
